How to use “Reverse Audio”
- Add the audio files you want to play backwards.
- Click “Listen 10 s” to hear how it sounds reversed.

What exactly it does
The order of every sample is reversed: the last part of the audio plays first. All channels are reversed the same way, so the stereo image is kept. The duration, the pitch of each note and the volume do not change; what changes is the envelope (hits turn into “crescendos” that end abruptly).
Are my files uploaded?
No. ShiftAny Audio processes your audio directly on your device: this tool runs in your browser and never sends your files to any server.
Limits and metadata
ShiftAny sets no duration or size limits: the real ceiling is your device’s memory, because the audio is decompressed to be processed and an hour of stereo takes more than 1 GB. With very long files, we warn you before loading them. The new file contains only the audio: tags (title, artist, cover art) are not copied.
Frequently asked questions
Can it be used to look for hidden messages (backmasking)?
Yes: the result is exactly the audio played backwards, just like spinning a vinyl record the wrong way.
Can I reverse just one part?
This tool reverses the whole file. Trim the section first with “Trim Audio” and then reverse it.
If I reverse it twice, do I get the original back?
Yes, if you save as WAV: reversing is exact and reversible. With MP3, every pass re-encodes the audio and loses a little quality.
