- Choose MP3 or WAV, click “Equalize audio” and download the result.
Five bands and a high-pass
The high-pass (20 to 300 Hz) removes rumble and mic thumps below the voice; 80 Hz is the usual point for speech. Bass (a shelf at 120 Hz) adds body; mids (a bell at 1 kHz) control a nasal or “telephone” sound; presence (a bell at 4 kHz) adds intelligibility; treble (a shelf at 10 kHz) adds brightness and air. Each band goes up or down by up to 20 dB. With Auto, the bands are worked out for your audio, towards the tone of a well-recorded voice (16 studio voices) or a well-mixed song (56 songs across 7 genres), as you choose; with songs, only what strays far from the norm is corrected, to respect the style. The filters are SH Core’s, ShiftAny’s own engine: they behave like an analog equalizer even near the top end, and are identical in live listening and in the exported file.
Are my files uploaded?
No. ShiftAny Audio processes your audio directly on your device: this tool runs in your browser and never sends your files to any server.
Limits and metadata
ShiftAny sets no duration or size limits: the real ceiling is your device’s memory, because the audio is decompressed to be processed and an hour of stereo takes more than 1 GB. With very long files, we warn you before loading them. The new file contains only the audio: tags (title, artist, cover art) are not copied.
Frequently asked questions
Which preset should I use for a voice?
“Vocal presence” cuts everything below 80 Hz, lowers the bass slightly and lifts the presence: it usually gives a clearer voice without touching anything else. Fine-tune afterwards with live listening.
What is the high-pass filter for?
It removes very low frequencies that add nothing to a voice: air-conditioning noise, bumps on the desk or the mic stand. If the voice loses body, lower it towards 60 Hz.
Why does it clip if I raise a band a lot?
Raising a band raises the level at those frequencies, and the peak can go above 0 dBFS. We warn you when it happens; lower that band or chain “Normalize Audio” in the Pipeline.
How is this different from the “De-esser”?
The equalizer changes the tone all the time. The “De-esser” only lowers the highs while an “s” or a “z” is sounding, and leaves the voice untouched the rest of the time.
